Army Talks To The Moon!

The US Army Signal Corps made the first attempt to touch another celestial body in January 1946 from their home base in Wall, New Jersey. A reflective antenna was built and used to bounce radar signals off the moon. Project Diana is often noted as the birth of the US Space Program as well as that of radar astronomy. Dubbed, "Project Diana" for the Roman moon Goddess also ushered in the practice of naming space projects after Roman gods and goddesses. Project Diana aims to be an ever changing series of hazy beer, no two will be the same.
